The method of using royalties to finance companies, as conceived and presented by Arthur Lipper, has been approved and decreed Sharia compliant by a respected group of Islamic scholars.
Under the commercial dictates of Sharia law the charging of interest is forbidden. In many cases the principles of commercial Sharia law are consistent with Judeo-Christian ethic as the more powerful should not be permitted an advantage over the less fortunate and the charging of interest would be considered an advantage.
The fatwa follows in both English and Arabic.
